SUMMER 2017 SOCIAL PROGRAMS
Summer programs will be held at both our Bethesda and Alexandria locations!!!!
Bumble Bee Intensive Summer Social Program (ages 3 to 5) Almost Full!!!
The Bumble Bee program will meet four days a week (no Mondays) from 10:00 to 1:00. This program will focus on the foundations needed for optimal development. Primary focus is on sensory regulation, communication and social skills.
Koala Intensive Social Group (ages 5 to 8 years) Almost Full!!!
The Koala program will meet four days a week (no Mondays) from 10:00 to 1:00. This program will focus on the foundations needed for optimal development. Primary focus is on sensory regulation, communication and social skills. Additionally it will focus on the higher levels of social emotional thinking that are critical for a child to develop deeper relationships.
Alligator Social Group (ages 8 to 12 years)
This afternoon group is for children with more significant language delays and sensory regulatory challenges. This program will give the children the opportunity to work on socializing with peers with experienced facilitators. This program will primarily work on sensory regulation and social communication.
Dolphin Social Group (ages 6 to 9 years)
This afternoon program is designed for children who have minor speech delays but need continued support in sensory regulation, attention and peer socialization.
Peer Hangout Social Group (ages 10 to 14 years)
This afternoon program is for older children that need some extra support in making friends and developing more complex peer relationships. This program will work on social development and higher levels of logical and abstract thinking that are critical for meaningful relationships.
Owl Vision Program (ages 8 to 11)
This afternoon group is for children that need support with their visual processing, cognition and visual/motor integration. These areas are foundations for higher-level academics, socialization and big picture thinking.
Specialized Social Dyad Interactions (all ages)
The Floortime Center® staff are always developing two or three children mini groups to compliment their individual therapies at the center. If interested please contact your therapist and the staff will find a child that is a good fit.
FOR MANY OF THE GROUPS YOU WILL RECEIVE INVOICES WITH CODES TO SUBMIT TO INSURANCE FOR REIMBURSEMENT AS GROUP OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY OR SPEECH THERAPY
